The art of Thai complexity

“Thai food ain’t about simplicity. It’s about the juggling of disparate elements to create a harmonious finish.Like a complex musical chord it’s got to have a smooth surfacebut it doesn’t matter what’s happening underneath.Simplicity isn’t the dictum here, at all. Some westerners think it’s a jumble of flavors, but to a Thai what’s important, it’s the complexity they delight in.”

Complexity of flavors, disparate elements, a jumble of flavors…these are the expectations diners have come to expect from Thai restaurants. The underlying foundation of Thai cuisine, going back to Chinese influences as early as the 10th century, is to achieve a satisfying and exciting taste experience through the relationship between five fundamental tastes: sweet, salty, spicy, sour and bitter. Properly balancing these flavors is the true essence of Thai cooking. Overemphasizing any of these fundamental tastes, particularly “sweet” and a Thai restaurant risks its cuisine being labeled “Americanized.”

Great customer service! Fast and very friendly service! Only 2 servers were on the floor and the place was packed, and I had the best service! The food tastes amazing! I got the chicken skewer with the Thai papaya salad. The best combination to eat together. The pad see ew had amazing tastes and not too sweet and not too salty. I would recommend this place to eat Asian food. I would definitely go there again and try other dishes.

Wow! What an awesome place! I wish we had this place at my hometown, I’d be there every day dining. Food is absolutely fantastic, very tasty and healthy. Great ambience and service. The restaurant won many rewards and I totally agree with that. It’s very close to the airport. Thank you for your delicious food and hospitality ! We will be back when visiting Albuquerque again.

Thai Spice delivered a delightful dining experience with a mix of vibrant flavors and generous portions. Our meal included a variety of dishes: beef salad, ginger stir-fry with beef, sweet and sour chicken stir-fry, fresh spring rolls, fried rolls, and sticky rice for dessert. Starting with the appetizers, the fresh spring rolls were generously sized and bursting with freshness, while the fried rolls were simply amazing, crispy on the outside and flavorful inside. Moving on to the main courses, both the beef salad and ginger stir-fry with beef impressed with their tender meat and crunchy vegetables. The sweet and sour chicken stir-fry was a hit as well, perfectly balancing tangy and sweet flavors. Despite a busy dining room, the service was commendable though the food did take a bit longer to arrive, which was understandable given the freshness and cooking to order. Highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the sticky rice dessert, which we all loved for its rich, satisfying sweetness. Overall, Thai Spice offers a memorable dining experience with delicious food that's worth the wait. We look forward to returning to explore more of their menu. Went back the next day for more and the service was very quick even though they were quite busy. Love this place.
